The ISM is delighted to be returning to Music & Drama Education Expo 2023 as an exhibitor and conference sponsor. Delegates will be able to visit us at London's Business Design Centre, at

The event promises to provide attendees with a host of effective teaching ideas, introduce them to the latest developments in music education and give them access to influential speakers from the world of music education. This year Music & Drama Education Expo will take place from Thursday 23 - Friday 24 February 2023.
ISM panel session: Advocating for the arts
Thursday 23 February, 12.30pm-1.15pm, Keynote Theatre
The ISM panel session 'Advocating for the arts' will focus on sharing practical ideas and strategies to help teachers advocate for music and drama to senior school staff.
The panel session is suitable for all key stage educators looking to advocate confidently for their subject with senior school staff and understand the types of evidence which can help support their advocacy.
The panel will be chaired by Deborah Annetts, Chief Executive of the ISM, and includes panellists Margaret O'Shea, Director of Music at Ark Schools, Tracy Dorrington, Head of Drama and Performing Arts, Bishop Stopford's School (Enfield) and founder of Drama Matters, and Dr Jodie Underhill, ISM Research Associate.

We are the only organisation for musicians that offers a bespoke in-house legal service, including a 24-hour legal helpline. We give advice on your rights as a working musician: that's everything from contracts to copyright and services that ensure you get paid. We also provide support to musicians who employ or engage other musicians.
