Scottish Awards for New Music 2020

The Scottish Awards for New Music celebrate and champion the most innovative and exciting makers, performers and promoters of new music who either live in, work in or are originally from Scotland. Now in their fourth year we are very excited to be presenting this year’s winners at the V&A in Dundee on 14th April.

This year’s awards feel quite special. It is year 4 - a mini milestone in itself as they start to feel like a staple of new music calendar. A time when the whole community can come together and shout about all the amazing work that is going on. The breadth and depth of work being made here, right now is quite astonishing and we are very proud to ensure that it gets the focus it deserves around this time every year. It is also the first time we have taken them a bit further North - to sunny Dundee and the outstanding V&A Dundee. The venue itself will make the awards feel special, but it is the work that will encourage everyone to make the journey there.

The shortlist has been announced and the excitement is really building - get your tickets now as they are going quickly. The awards are a great opportunity to meet other composers, performers, promoters, media, industry and fans of new music and we are extremely proud of the way they are influencing promoters around the world and inspiring new collaborations. We hope to build on that in the years to come.

For now, find out more by visiting our website ( and keep your eyes peeled for the shortlist announcement. We’ll see you at V&A Dundee on 14th April!
